Powervation Ltd., a Cork, Ireland-based fabless semiconductor company, raised $5.5M in a Series C1 funding round.
Backers included all existing major investors SEP, Intel Capital, VentureTech Alliance, Braemar Energy Ventures, and Semtech Corporation.
The company intends to use the funds to further accelerate growth, product development, and market adoption of its platform at cloud and communications infrastructure OEMs.
Led by Mike McAuliffe, CEO, Powervation provides intelligent digital power IC solutions. Its controllers are adopted in cloud/datacenter server infrastructure, high performance computing, power module solutions, as well as communications infrastructure.
The company has facilities in San Jose, California and Taipei, Taiwan.
