Hampton Creek Foods Completes $23M Series B Financing

hampton creekHampton Creek Foods, a San Francisco, CA-based tech food startup, completed a $23m Series B financing round.

The round was led by Horizons Ventures with participation from Jerry Yang and AME Cloud Ventures, Ali and Hadi Partovi, Jessica Powell of Google, Scott Banister, and Ash Patel, as well as existing investors Khosla Ventures, Collaborative Fund, and Kat Taylor and Tom Steyers’ Eagle Cliff.

The company, which has received a total of $30m in funding to date, will use the capital to accelerate its growth in North America, expand its operations to Asia, pursue strategic partnerships, and grow their team.

Led by CEO and founder Josh Tetrick, Hampton Creek has built a technology platform to enable the production of healthier food, starting with conventional chicken egg. It currently offers Just Mayo (available at Whole Foods) and will launch Eat the Dough next month.

In the last 90 days, the company has signed partnership agreements with 6 Fortune 500 companies, including some large food manufactures and retailers.
