Georgian Partners Holds First Close of Second Fund at $100M

Georgian Partners, a Toronto, Canada-based growth equity firm, raised $100m in the first close of its second fund.

Limited partners included Northleaf Venture Catalyst Fund, BMO Financial Group, Kensington Capital Partners, Fondaction, some family offices and an unnamed software investor.

Led by Justin LaFayette, co-founder and managing director, the fund will focus on investing in expansion-stage software companies developing cloud-based business, Big Data, and broad Information Right solutions.
Georgian Partners Fund I had invested in a number of companies including 41st Parameter, Shopify, Kony, and ScribbleLive, the leading end-to-end platform for real time content engagement.
