Campanja, a Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of a search engine marketing platform, raised $5m in Series A financing.
Backers included Hoxton Ventures, DFJ Esprit and angel investors Ram Shriram (founding investor and board member of Google), and David Axmark (co-founder of MySQL).
The company intends to use the funds for platform development, hiring in Palo Alto and Stockholm (read here), and international expansion, including opening new offices in London and New York.
Founded in 2010 by Marcus Anzengruber, CEO, and Berner Setterwall, Campanja uses big data and real-time bidding solutions to provide a platform for customers to optimize advertising spend in real-time, adjusting for location, time, and seasonality.
It is used by large online advertisers, in the U.S., Europe and Middle East.
