WP Engine, an Austin, TX-based provider of a WP premium managed hosting platform, received a $15m investment from North Bridge Growth Equity.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth through the introduction of new product innovations across the WP Engine platform.
Founded in 2010 and led by Heather Brunner, CEO, WP Engine provides organizations ranging from large enterprises and big media to SMBs, family-run businesses and bloggers in the retail, media, and financial services who need speed, security, performance and reliability from their WordPress deployments.
The service includes support from top WordPress experts, one-click backup/restore, optimization for speed and scalability, and security features that include automatic software upgrades.
WP Engine allows customers to use WordPress plugins or themes, including custom code.
