TigerText Closes $21M Series B Funding

TigerText_LogoTigerText, a Santa Monica, CA-based provider of real-time messaging for the enterprise, closed a $21m Series B funding round.

The round was led by Shasta Ventures with participation from OrbiMed, Reed Elsevier Ventures, and TELUS Corporation, and existing investors Easton Capital, New Leaf Venture Partners, and New Science Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds for continued expansion efforts.

Led by Brad Brooks, Co-Founder and CEO, TigerText provides an encrypted messaging an app for staff and colleagues to message each other from any smartphone, tablet or computer within an environment that can be managed by the enterprise.
The platform has been adopted by more than 3,000 facilities including Adventist Health, the University of Kentucky HealthCare, and Scottsdale Health Partners.
According to a note, In 2013, the company achieved its third consecutive year of triple-digit sales growth.
In conjunction with the funding, it also added Cornerstone OnDemand (NASDAQ: CSOD), Co-founder and CFO, Perry Wallack and Dr. Andrew Brooks to the board of directors.
