Teespring, a Providence, Rhode Island-based crowdfunding platform for custom apparel, raised $20m in funding.
Founded in November of 2011 by Walker Williams and Evan Stites-Clayton, Teespring operates a crowdfunding platform for custom apparel.
It allows people to create a design, choose a sales goal, and launch a campaign. Once a campaigner reaches the goal, the company manages the production and distribution phases and sends the organizer a check for the profit.
People can also use the site to gather around a cause, earn extra cash, fundraise, or distribute merchandise.
Launched in 2012, Teespring has shipped over 1 million custom products to people in over 80 countries.
