StyleSeat, a San Francisco, CA-based online marketplace for beauty and wellness services, raised $10.2m in Series A financing.
The round, which brought the total amount raised to date to $14m, was led by Lightspeed Ventures with participation from existing investor Lowercase Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and create new experiences for clients to discover and book appointments.
Founded in 2011 by CEO Melody McCloskey, StyleSeat operates an online and mobile platform that gives beauty professionals free tools to run, manage and grow their business and clients a place to discover and book appointments online or from their phones with professionals in their area.
To date, the company has facilitated more than $350m in services booked on the platform from more than 2 million clients. More than 200,000 beauty professionals use StyleSeat.
Last month, it launched a new app for iOS and Android.
