nextSociety Raises $700K in Seed Funding

nextSociety, a New York City-based developer of a networking tool for professionals, raised $700k in seed funding.

Backers included business angels, as well as two small funds.

The company will use the funds to build its tool.

Co-founded by Peter Stebe, Alexander Tange and Ben Simsa, nextSociety aims to making professional networking efficient by providing a networking tool that filters relevant users’ connections and suggesting the most effective networking to-dos.
The company, which has its development hub in Vienna, Austria, reports almost 2,000 pre-signups within a few weeks and is now seeing 12% of new user growth each week for the (unpromoted) beta app.
nextSociety also have been named TechStars finalist in New York and London and are a member of the Rackspace Startup program. In addition, they will present at SXSW Interactive Startup Spotlight in Austin, TX in March and will reveal its mobile app, which will be available for Android and iPhone.
