Madison Reed Raises $12M in Series B Funding

madisonMadison Reed, a San Francisco, CA-based maker of a hair-coloring product, raised $12m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors True Ventures and Maveron. In conjunction with the funding, Norwest Managing Partner Jeff Crowe joined Madison Reed’s board.

The company, which had raised a $3.9m from True Ventures and Maveron in April 2013, intends to use the funds to expand operations.

Co-founded in April 2013 by Amy Errett, Madison Reed provides a hair color product free of ammonia and other chemicals. It is hand-crafted in Italy,
The company offers hair coloring formulas, personalized hair assessment, and at-home delivery. Its application kit allows customers to watch how-to videos online or through an iPhone app to apply it to their hair.
