HiLine Coffee Company Closes $500k First Round of Financing

hilineNew York-based coffee startup HiLine Coffee Company closed a $500k first round of financing.

Backers included a group of private investors.

The company intends to use the funds for product development and expansion of coffee selection.

Launched on July 4th, 2013 by Gene Kakaulin, a certified barista, and Ted Snyder, a serial entrepreneur, HiLine Coffee aims to bring new quality to the emerging Nespresso market at an affordable price, with an emphasis on quality from the farm to cup, with no celebrity spokespeople or expensive boutiques.
It is already selling hundreds of thousands of coffee capsules per month to companies such as Paddle8, Citi Bike, Tough Mudder, Samsung, Union Square Ventures, Plated, Pixable, and others.
