Cotap, a San Francisco, CA-based enterprise mobile messaging service, raised $10m in second funding.
The round was led by Emergence Capital Partners, with participation from existing investor Charles River Ventures.
The company, which has now raised $15.5m to date, intends to use the funds to scale its engineering, sales and marketing teams as well as expand to new mobile platforms.
Led by Jim Patterson, founder and CEO, Cotap provides a mobile messaging app for employees to connect and collaborate across departments and geographies. People with a work email address can sign up for Cotap for free and find and message anyone in their organization, sync their calendar to message meeting attendees with updates or changes.
Launched in October 2013, the iOS app has been used by over 6,000 companies. The company’s Android app is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2014 along with the premium version of the service.
