TapShield Raises $750K in Financing

TapShield, an Orlando, FL-based security company specializing in mobile emergency reporting and response, raised $750k in financing.

It includes private investment which matched public funding from the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research http://www.florida-institute.com.
The company intends to use the funds to scale its operations, hire additional people for sales and marketing support.

Led by Jordan Johnson, President & Co-founder, and Head of Technology Ben Boyd, TapShield is a mobile inbound emergency alert system that allows users to send a detailed report to police dispatch via a smartphone app. This report includes real-time GPS location and key profile information designed to make emergency reporting and response faster and more accurate.
It can be used by higher ed, K-12, corporations, and municipalities.
