Playnery Closes $2.8M Series B Financing

playneryPlaynery, a San Jose, CA- ans Seoul, Korea-based based development studio for high-end quality games and cross-platform game engine technology, closed its $2.8m Series B round of financing.

The round was led by JAFCO Asia.

The company, which had already raised $3.8m in Series A funding from Softbank Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures and Stonebridge Capital, intends to use the funds to accelerate its game development and to publish its first title – Mother of Myth – in 2014.

Established in October 2011 by Henry Park, chief executive officer, Playnery is currently focused on developing high-end 3D mobile games. Its first title – Mother of Myth – is an action role-playing game developed for smartphones, tablets, and web browsers.
The company has recently partnered with an online gaming corporation to publish the game on mobile platforms in Korea, Japan, Taiwan and China.
