Chef Closes $32M Series D Funding

Chef (formerly Opscode), a Seattle, WA-based provider of an IT automation platform, closed a $32m Series D funding round.

The round was led by Scale Venture Partners (ScaleVP) with participation from Citi Ventures, existing investors Battery Ventures, DFJ, Ignition Partners and Amplify Partners. Rory O’Driscoll, a partner with ScaleVP, joined Chef’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to further accelerate the development of its platform, and expand market penetration.

Led by Barry Crist, CEO, and by Adam Jacob, Chief Dev Officer, Chef provides a platform to automate IT infrastructure and applications that drive self-reliance across development and operations teams. The company also added Curt Anderson as CFO, Tucker Callaway, as VP of Enterprise, and Tom Murphy, as VP of Services.
