AeroDron, a Parma, Italy-based startup that specializes in offering environmental services using civil drones, raised €400k in funding.
The round includes:
– a €110k tranche closed on November 27th with Blom CGR (Compagnia Generale Ripreseaeree) and Capital B! controlled by Mauro Del Rio (president and founder of Buongiorno SpA.
– a €290k tranche, which will be closed in January 2014 with still unnamed entrepreneurs and investors.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Founded in 2012 by Giorgio Ugozzoli, AeroDron leverages civil drones to offer professional services of low altitude, high resolution aerial imagery for the analysis, prevention and safeguard of the environment and territories. The company, whose services have applications in Civil Protection, Public Administration and Agricolture, is developing two business divisions: the first to provide remote sensing, aerial photography, monitoring of natural disasters and search and rescue operations, the second one which will offer learning services.
