TinyCo, a San Francisco, CA-based mobile games developer, closed a $20m financing round.
Backers included Pinnacle Ventures and existing investor Andreessen Horowitz.
The company intends to use the funds to hire additional design and production people in order to create new free-to-play mobile games.
Led by co-founder and chief executive officer Suli Ali, TinyCo has developed Tiny Castle, Tiny Monsters, Tiny Zoo Friends and Tiny Village, among others. Games have been downloaded on Apple, Google and Amazon mobile devices more than 85 million times since 2010.
The company, which also appointed Mike O’Brien, president and co-founder of ArenaNet, to the board of directors, had previously raised $18m in Series A funding (read here).
