Surefire Medical, Inc., a Westminster, Colo.-based commercial stage medical device company developing innovative infusion systems for minimally invasive interventional procedures, completed a $18.2m Series B funding.
Backers included angel investors, who joined MCG Partners, Partisan Management Group and High Country Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand product development, clinical trials, operations and marketing efforts.
Founded in 2009 and led by Jim Chomas, CEO, Surefire Medical develops infusion systems that are designed to deliver embolic agents through a microcatheter with an expandable tip that collapses in forward flow and dynamically expands to the vessel wall in reverse flow.
The Surefire Infusion System-ST, LT, mT and specialty catheters have received regulatory approval in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan.
