Livefyre Acquires Realtidbits

Livefyre-LogoLivefyre, a provider of a real-time conversation and social curation platform, acquired the assets and team of Realtidbits, an enterprise social application provider.

Led by Kelly Abbott, Co-Founder and CEO, Realtidbits provides a suite of real-time applications including analytics, comments, forums, social bridge, pinboard and image galleries. Its analytics product tracks real-time engagement, including replies, likes, social sharing and custom metrics, through integrations with analytics packages including Adobe Omniture, Google Analytics and Mixpanel. Customers include The CW Network, Thomson Reuters, Dow Jones Local Media Group, The Irish Times and The Toronto Star.

This is the second acquisition by Livefyre in two months, having acquired social storytelling platform Storify in September (read here). Following the transaction, whose amount was not disclosed, the acquirer plans to integrate Realtidbits Analytics product into its platform and will migrate customers to Livefyre products over the coming weeks, consistent with existing agreements. All members of the Realtidbits team will be joining its product, engineering and design teams, with a focus on analytics.

Livefyre will also be opening a San Diego office (beyond its existing ones in San Francisco, New York and London) and plans to expand hiring in that region.
