Atomico, the growth stage international investment firm founded by Niklas Zennström, the co-founder of Skype, closed its third fund at $476m.
According to a blog post, Atomico III will focus on building a portfolio of technology based growth companies that are looking to scale their businesses, primarily outside Silicon Valley (across Europe and into large emerging markets like China, Japan, Brazil, Turkey and Korea).
They are looking for companies “with the potential to become an international category winner” and “which can attack and transform large industries, both domestically and globally“.
Founded in 2006, the firm has invested in Supercell, the Climate Corporation, Rovio, Hailo, Klarna, OneTwoTrip, Connect Parts and Fab. Atomico has offices in London, Beijing, São Paulo, Istanbul and Tokyo.
