Unpakt Raises $3M in Funding

Unpakt, a NYC-based dynamic online marketplace for consumers to compare reputable moving companies and instantly book their moves online, raised $3m in funding.

The name of the backers remained undisclosed.

The company, which also said it achieved gross sales of over $1m, intends to use the funds to enable international moves originating in major U.S. markets, launch a truck rental comparison and booking marketplace for “D.I.Y.” self-moves, and develop a comparison and scheduling platform for small parcel shipments.

Launched in July 2012 by Sharone Ben-Harosh, Unpakt provides consumers with tools to create a home inventory, compare exact prices and previous user reviews from local, pre-screened moving companies, and then book their services online.
It is now in 65 major markets in 39 states across America including the major metro areas of New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, Phoenix, San Diego, Washington D.C., Dallas, San Jose, Austin, Jacksonville, San Francisco, Columbus, Charlotte, Memphis, Boston, Seattle, Denver, Nashville, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Tucson, Sacramento, Atlanta, Colorado Springs, Richmond, Miami, Cleveland, Tampa, St. Louis, Milwaukee etc.
