Tulip Retail Raises $2.4M in Funding

Tulip Retail, a Waterloo, Ontario, Canadda-based a retail software company, raised $2.4m in funding.

The round was led by SoftTech, with participation from Founder Collective, BoxGroup, Lerer Ventures, iNovia, Promus Ventures, KIMA Ventures, Matt Mullenweg (founder of WordPress), the founders of Bufferbox, and Greg Kidd (early investor in Twitter and advisor to Square). In conjunction with the funding, Charles Hudson, Partner at SoftTech, will join the company’s Board of Directors.

Led by Ali Asaria, founder and CEO, Tulip Retail provides a platform which allows retailers to enable omni-channel experiences for their shoppers across their stores, website, and mobile storefronts. Retailers can leverage the platform to enable Apple-store like checkout experiences that connect to their ecommerce and internal data stores. Shoppers can order online but fulfill orders from the store, or order in the store in an but ship to home.
