Soundrop Closes $3.4M Round

Soundrop, an Oslo, Norway-based social music discovery platform, closed a $3.4m funding round (NOK20m).

The round was led by Northzone and Investinor.

Led by Inge Andre Sandvik, CEO, Soundrop provides a real-time, cross-platform social music service that allows consumers discover and enjoy music together on any music streaming platform and labels and artists to increase engagement on and revenues from streaming music services.
Top artists including Imagine Dragons, Robin Thicke, Zedd, Owl City and more than 130 others have joined the service rooms to meet and interact with fans.
It is available as an app for Spotify, on the web at play.soundrop.fm, on any Facebook page and as apps for iOS and Android. Now the company will use the funds to expand to other platforms.

Soundrop has offices in New York, Los Angeles and London.
