ParStream, a Cupertino, CA-based provider of a real-time database for big data analytics, closed an $8m series B funding.
The round was led by Khosla Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth in the global big data market by scaling the team.
Co-founded by CEO Mike Hummel and CTO Joerg Bienert, ParStream provides businesses with businesses real-time databases to gain immediate insights into their data. The database is used worldwide in ecommerce, telecommunications, finance, advertising, retail, and mining.
The company also added Steve Capelli, most recently President of Worldwide Field Operations at Sybase, to the Board of Directors.
