Meta Raises Funding

Meta, a developer of augmented reality glasses, raised funding from Fenox Venture Capital.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Led by Meron Gribetz, CEO and founder, and Steve Feiner, a Computer Science professor at Columbia University, Meta provides augmented reality glasses that leverage optical display, imaging and miniature computer technology to allow users to create virtual objects and 3D printed prototypes with hand gestures.

They were priced at $667k with shipping starting in January.

The company, which is currently hiring, was part of Y-Combinator’s Summer 2013 class (YC S13)
