Kii Receives Investment from Fenox Venture Capital

Kii, a Tokyo, Japan-based provider of mobile backend-as-a-service (MBaaS) platform, received an investment from Fenox Venture Capital.

The amount of the funding was not disclosed.

The company, which has raised $7.3M to date, intends to use the capital to grow their global presence including expanding into Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Led by Masanari Arai, CEO, Kii provides mobile developers with a complete solution to add backend functionality like user management, data management, push notifications, app analytics and integration with ad-based monetization networks, without having to develop, manage or operate servers.
The company also offers a distribution service to emerging markets such as China, including cloud hosting, translation service, publication of applications to local mobile application market, payment service and advertisement integration.
Customers include enterprises such as LinkedIn, NTT Docomo, Softbank and HTC.

The company currently has offices in San Mateo, California, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, China employing more than 100 engineers and business professionals.
