Kernel Capital Launches £25M Fund Focused on Northern Ireland

Irish venture capital firm Kernel Capital just announced a £25m fund focused on Northern Ireland.

The Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Growth Fund (NI) has received the support of Bank of Ireland and Invest NI.

The fund will invest in Northern Ireland-based growth businesses that have potential to grow in global markets. Kernel, which already has a number of portfolio companies with various commercial activities in Northern Ireland, also opened a new Belfast office (in Donegall Square) with the appointment of Jayne Brady as Partner who will be based in Belfast.

Commenting on the announcement, Dr. Daniel McCaughan, Partner, Kernel Capital, said: “The Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Growth Fund (NI) will offer new opportunities for dynamic Northern Ireland companies and we look forward to working closely with Northern Ireland’s entrepreneurial and business community“.
