Bromium Raises $40M in Series C Funding

Bromium, Inc., a Cupertino, CA-based enterprise security company, raised $40m in Series C funding.

The round was led by new investor Meritech Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Ignition Partners, Highland Capital Partners, and Intel Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Rob Ward, managing director at Meritech Capital, will join Bromium’s board.

The company intends to use the funding for continued product development and increase of sales in North America, EMEA, Japan and APAC.

Founded in 2010 by CEO Gaurav Banga, Simon Crosby, and Ian Pratt, Bromium has developed technology that adds durable protection against advanced malware to every end point, and provides insights into malware intent. Its Bromium vSentry uses Intel CPU and chipset features to hardware-isolate tasks that access the Web, attachments and files that might contain malware.
