Zipments Closes $2.25M Seed Funding

Zipments, a New York City-based technology company that offers a same-day local delivery service through a network of professional couriers, closed a $2.25m seed funding.

The round was led by FirstMark Capital and Huron River Ventures, with participation from the Windquest Group, New York City Economic Development Corporation, Chicago Ventures, and Robert Safrata, CEO at Novex Couriers.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its technology platform and expand into new markets.

Founded in 2010 by CEO Garrick Pohl, Elliot Nelson and Travis Brack, Zipments provides consumers, retailers and other businesses with a collaborative commerce platform for same-day local delivery service through a network of couriers. Local requests, which can be made through the Zipments mobile app, API, or on, are automatically dispatched to a network of couriers based on the type of transportation required (bike, car, truck) and time in which the delivery needs to be performed. Once a courier has accepted the request, the delivery status can be monitored with real time updates including pickup time, recipient signature and final delivery time.
