RunTitle, an Austin, Texas-based online marketplace for mineral acreage title information, raised $4m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Austin Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Mike Dodd, Partner, Austin Ventures, will be joining RunTitle’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to further invest in product and distribution, and increase brand awareness in the oil and gas land industry.
Reid Calhoon, CEO, RunTitle is an online marketplace which offers mineral title research to oil and gas professionals and mineral owners nationwide.
Customers range from small independents to multiple publicly traded natural resource exploration and production companies.
Launched in August 2012, RunTitle was a member of the Houston energy start-up program, the SURGE Accelerator, and has now expanded into 13 states.
