Pointstic Raises $600K in Funding

Pointstic, a Milan, Italy-based provider of a mobile promoting and rewarding app, raised $600k in funding.

Backers included I-Next Ventures and Xandas New Media Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to consolidate their leadership position in Italy and expand into other European markets, reaching 1m users by 2014.

Led by CEO Antonio Giannetto, CTO Alessandro Ragonini and Chairman Fabio Pezzotti, Pointstic has developed a mobile platform that aims to help retailers and brands increase store traffic, improve the interactions between customers and products, and drive sales.
Inspired by US successful models such as Shopkick and Checkpoints, the app allows consumers to choose among a variety of “missions”, which involve completing tasks like taking a photo, scanning a bar code, checking-in, making a video. By completing missions, the customer receives points that can be used to redeem prizes from a catalogue created in collaboration with Pointstic’s partners.

Since the launch, 80,000 consumers have already downloaded the Pointstic App and users have generated 590,000 tasks.
