BioDigital Human Raises $4M in Series A Funding

BioDigital Human, a NYC-based developer of 3D technology platform to interactively explore the human body, raised $4m in Series A funding.

The round was led by FirstMark Capital with participation from the NYU Venture Fund and other angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the development of features and API functionality.

Co-founded by Frank Sculli and John Qualter, BioDigital provides an interactive web-based platform (The BioDigital HumanTM) that gives students and professionals a new tool to learn anatomy and health conditions using 3D technology, create and share visualizations, simulate products within the human body.
Since launch last year, Human has attracted over one million members, including students in over 2,500 schools, consumers who are using it to understand and share everything from fitness to health conditions, healthcare providers who are introducing it within their clinics to better communicate with their patients.
The company is now making the effort to create a community developing novel applications.
