VeliQ Closes $9M Series B Financing

VeliQ, a Rotterdam, the Netherlands-based developer of a mobility Platform as a Service, closed a $9m Series B financing.

The round was led by Northcap, with participation from T-venture, which had invested in the company in 2011 (read here). In conjunction with the funding, Northcap’s Kim Wiencken will join VeliQ’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development, expand abroad and increase its global sales efforts, through its partner network.

Led by Alex Bausch, founder and CEO, VeliQ provides an mPaaS solution, branded MobiDM, which enables secure management of smartphones, tablets and mobile apps within an organization from a central location, using Afaria© (SAP) technology. Launched in 2009, MobiDM is used in over 60 countries via telecom companies and system integrators such as Deutsche Telecom, KPN, Portugal Telecom and Vimpelcom.
The company, which currently employs around 100 people, added US offices in Boston, MA in April 2013 to other in the UK, Denmark and Germany.
