UrbanBound Raises $5M in Series A Funding

UrbanBound, a Chicago, IL-based relocation platform that provides companies with a comprehensive relocation experience for their newly hired and transferring employees, raised $5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Grotech Ventures with participation from StarVest Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to for hiring and continued platform innovation.

Co-founded by Michael Krasman and Jeff Ellman, UrbanBound provides companies with a web-based comprehensive relocation solution for their newly hired and transferring employees. Through the software platform, employees can self-administer their entire relocation, educate themselves on their new city, organize and plan their move, and get connected to vetted service providers who offer discounts.
Current customers include Groupon, Razorfish, Plante Moran and CH Robinson.
