Lockbox Closes $2.5M Seed Funding

Lockbox, a South Yarra, Australia- London, UK- and San Jose, CA-based provider of private file sharing solutions, closed a $2.5m seed funding round.

The round was led by Natasha Mandie, Managing Director of Mandie Consulting, who become chairperson of the board as well as new and existing investors from the United States, Australia and Asia. Steve Kepper, Director at KFT Investments in Australia, joined as a new board member.

The company intends to use the funds to execute on its product roadmap, expand sales and marketing efforts, and hire new people in the areas of sales, support, and operations.

Founded in 2008 and led by Peter Long, CEO, Lockbox provides businesses and consumers with a file and folder encryption platform to exchange private and sensitive documents over the cloud. Earlier in May 2013, the company entered into the U.S. market and launched Lockbox Client Portal, a private file sharing solution for the financial services market, which allows information to be shared with multiple parties simultaneously.
