e-conomic, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based provider of SaaS accounting services for SMEs, has been acquired by HgCapital.
The amount of deal was not disclosed.
Founded in 2001 by Jacob Wandt and led by CEO Torben Rasmussen, e-conomic provides a SaaS (Software as a Service) accounting solution for SMEs serving approximately 60,000 customers for its core product and approximately 100,000 customers for its freemium invoicing and expenses product Debitoor.
The company operates in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Spain, Poland, Finland and France.
It is hiring.
Commenting on the acquisition Nic Humphries, Managing Partner at HgCapital, said: “…will work closely with CEO, Torben Rasmussen, and his colleagues to deliver this potential.
“We intend to create a significant number of new jobs at e-conomic, both in Denmark and several other European countries, as the business grows“.
