Flywheel Raises $14.8M in Series B Funding

Flywheel (formerly called Cabulous), a San Francisco and Redwood City, CA-based provider of an app that allows users hail a cab, watch as it approaches, and pay using their smartphone, raised $14.8m in Series B funding.

The round was led by new investor Craton Equity Partners with participation from Series A investors RockPort Capital and Shasta Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to expand across the U.S., increase its users and partners.

Led by Steve Humphreys, CEO, Flywheel offers a service that allows passengers to request a ride in real-time, track its arrival via GPS, and pay automatically the driver through Android and iPhone apps. It also provides an enterprise-grade cloud based dispatching system that is in use by fleets nationwide.
