Drivewyze Raises $7.5M in Series A Funding

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada-based Intelligent Imaging Systems (IIS) and its sister company, Drivewyze, a provider of a mobile application for the transportation industry, raised $7.5m in Series A funding.

Backers included Emergence Capital Partners and iNovia Capital.

The company intends to use the funds for sales and marketing expansion of the PreClear wireless weigh station bypass service, with the goal to reach full national coverage in 2014, as well as new product development.

Founded in 2003 and led by Brian Heath, IIS launched Drivewyze in 2012 as a standalone division to market a mobile-based weigh station bypass system for commercial truck operators. The app allows fleets with good safety scores to use Drivewyze PreClear to “bypass” weigh stations avoiding inspection delays.
Drivewyze PreClear is already available at 223 locations across 16 states. Fleet customers can also utilize the Drivewyze service on Android, iOS and Blackberry tablets and smartphones.
