Ambiq Micro Closes $10M Series B Funding

Ambiq Micro, an Austin, Texas-based fabless semiconductor company, closed a $10m Series B funding.

The round was led by Austin Ventures, with participation from existing investors ARM, Mercury Fund, Huron River Ventures and other investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop its platform and new products and expand worldwide.

Led by Mark Foley, CEO and President, Ambiq Micro has developed SPOT™ (Subthreshold Power Optimized Technology), which enables semiconductor products to run at low voltage levels inside the chip, lowering the power required for chip operation.
The SPOT platform technology can be applied to a wide range of semiconductors used in battery-life critical applications, such as the emerging wearable computing market, smart watches, wireless sensors, smart cards and low-power medical devices.
