Xamarin Raises $16M in Series B Venture Funding

Xamarin, a San Francisco, CA- and Cambridge, MA-based platform for developers to build native apps for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac, raised $16m in Series B venture funding.

The round was led by Lead Edge Capital, with participation from Series A investors Charles River Ventures, Ignition Partners and Floodgate.

Led by Nat Friedman, CEO and cofounder, Xamarin provides an enterprise mobile development platform that enables businesses to build native apps for multiple device platforms in C# for all major devices—iOS, Android, Mac and Windows.
It is used by over 350,000 developers from more than 100 Fortune 500 companies and nearly 20,000 paying customers in 70 countries including Kimberly-Clark, Clear Channel, Schindler, McKesson, Halliburton, Cognizant, GitHub, Rdio and WebMD.
