Swisscom’s CEO Carsten Schloter Dies

Swisscom‘s CEO Carsten Schloter, 49, died this morning.

Mr Schloter had joined Swisscom in 2000 as Head of Swisscom Mobile and was appointed CEO in 2006.

According to a company’s official note, his body was found this morning at his place of residence in the Freiburg area.
The police are assuming it was a case of suicide with an investigation into the exact circumstances now underway.

Hansueli Loosli, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said: “The Board of Directors, Group Executive Board and the entire workforce are deeply saddened and pass on their condolences to the family and relatives“.

Deputy CEO Urs Schäppi, Head of Swisscom Switzerland, will take over management of the company ad interim.
