Stormpulse Raises $2.1M in Funding

Stormpulse, an Austin, Texas-based company that provides solutions to monitor weather threats, raised $2.1m in funding.

Backers included Dave McClure’s 500 Startups and Laurent Drion’s E-merge and other 18 investors (read the S.E.C. filing here).

Co-founded in 2004 by Matthew Wensing, Chief Executive Officer, and Brad Wiemerslage, Chief Technology Officer, Stormpulse provides a system that continuously renders the relationship between customers’ operations and weather events such as hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons and other storms and makes data accessible on a web interactive map to the entire organization. Customers in a broad range of industries including energy, transportation, defense, healthcare, and retail, can then route weather alerts via email and text message to relevant personnel based on their preferences and filters regarding the type of weather event, the threatened facility, and the personnel to be notified.
