LiquidPiston Holds First Close of $6.5M Series C Funding

LiquidPiston, Inc., a Bloomfield, CT-based provider of advanced internal combustion engines, held the first close of a $6.5m series C funding round.

The close could amount to $2.25m, according to a filing with the S.E.C. (read here).

Backers included Northwater Capital Management, Inc. and Adams Capital Management, Inc. In addition to the funding, David Habiger, a business veteran with over 20 years of experience leading innovative companies, joined the company’s board of directors.

Led by Nikolay Shkolnik, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, LiquidPiston develops advanced internal combustion engines. According to the compay benefits include high fuel-efficiency, lightweight, and low-vibration. It is multi-fuel capable (including diesel, JP8, gasoline, and natural gas), and scalable (1 to over 1000 HP) to serve a variety of markets.
