HitFix Raises $1.8M in Funding

HitFix, a Los Angeles, CA-based online entertainment news platform, raised $1.8m in funding.

Backers included Tech Coast Angels’ Angel Capital Entrepreneurial Fund, Golden Seeds and Gordon Crawford, a retired investment fund manager (Capital Group).

The company intends to use the funds to expand its reach across all platforms.

Co-founded by CEO Jen Sargent and Greg Ellwood, HitFix is a destination for 18-34 year old consumers to access news, interviews and commentary on all aspects of entertainment by entertainment journalists such as Alan Sepinwall, Drew McWeeny, Daniel Fienberg, Kris Tapley and Melinda Newman.
On a monthly basis, the site reaches over 4 million uniques directly and over 50 million users.
