Bidgely, a Sunnyvale, CA-based big data software company focused on saving energy costs at home, raised an additional $5m in funding.
The round was led by existing investor Khosla Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the engineering team.
Led by founder and CEO Abhay Gupta, Bidgely provides an application that analyzes utility meter data to provide consumers a real-time breakdown of the amount and cost of energy used by appliances in their homes without installing any plug-level hardware sensors.
The company is working with utilities with both smart meters and analog meters, as well as other third parties, to bring its solution to consumers.
