7signal Receives $250K in funding from JumpStart

7signal, an Akron, OH-based provider of solutions for wireless user performance, received $250k in funding from JumpStart.

7signal is also backed by North Coast Angel Fund, Ohio TechAngels and the Akron BioInvestments Fund.

The company intends to use the funds for product and staff development.

Led by CEO Jeff Reedy, 7signal develops a Wi-Fi performance assurance and optimization solution that monitors and troubleshoots wireless local area networks (WLANs), ). The Sapphire system consists of multiple components:
– The Sapphire Eye, a Wi-Fi monitoring device that takes continuous data measurements;
– the Sapphire software collects, analyzes and stores data, enabling users to obtain end-to-end measurement of Wi-Fi quality.
The solution is used by large-scale medical customers including Akron General Medical Center and Akron Children’s Hospital and other education and manufacturing/ distribution customers.
