Watchwith, Inc., a San Francisco, California-based sync-to-broadcast content management platform and syndication network, completed a $5m venture financing.
Backers included Rogers Venture Partners, early stage investors ARRIS (formerly Motorola Mobility), and Gracenote.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its broadcaster and advertiser tools, expand its customer base, and extend the reach of the Watchwith syndication network to cable, satellite, telco and connected TV partners.
Led by founder and CEO Zane Vella, Watchwith provides sync-to-broadcast content management and syndication solutions for television programming and advertising. Its sync-to-broadcast platform provides television creators, producers, distributors and app developers with tools for content authoring, content management and metadata syndication. It has already enabled mobile, web and tablet applications from networks including Bravo, NBC, and Syfy.
The company also offers a “write once” syndication platform that enables industry leaders such as Fox Broadcasting and USA Network to extend the reach of their enhanced consumer experience to distribution partners including Shazam, Twitter, zeebox, ConnecTV, NextGuide and Viggle.
