Spinnakr Raises $1M in Seed Funding

Spinnakr, a Washington, DC-, and Palo Alto, Calif.-based web analytics startup, raised under $1m in seed funding.

Backers included ventur capital firms 500 Startups, Andreessen Horowitz and Point Nine Capital, and angels Linda Abraham, Sean Glass, Ed Barrientos, Glen Hellman, and Thomas Lynch.

The company intends to use the funds to hire new people (read here) and continue to develop its platform.

Co-founded by Michael Mayernick and Adam Bonnifield, Spinnakr provides an analytics platform for Web businesses to optimize the web performance and provide a more targeted personalized experience.
According to the company’s web site, the platform provides tools to respond to traffic spikes in real time via alerts, to boost Twitter engagement, connect Likers to the Facebook page, get more from Reddit, StumbleUpon, Yelp, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.

Spinnakr is currently accelerated by 500 Startups.
