ReNew Power Receives $135M Investment from Goldman Sachs

According to Reuters, a private equity fund managed by Goldman Sachs invested $135m in an Indian wind energy firm ReNew Power Pvt Ltd.

Goldman Sachs had already invested $250m in ReNew.

Founded by Sumant Sinha, Chairman and CEO, the Indian firm is renewable energy independent power producer (IPP) with 200 mw of wind turbines in operation. The first wind power project of ReNew is of 25 MW in Jasdan, Rajkot in Gujarat that got commissioned on March 29th, 2012. Currently, the company has an installed wind power portfolio of 200 MW as on 30th of April 2013 and aims to scale up its capacity to 500 mw by the end of 2014 and 1,000 mw to 2015.
