Mobisante Holds First Close of Series A Financing

Mobisante, Inc., a Redmond, Washington-based medical device company that makes smart phone and tablet based ultrasound imaging systems, announced the first closing of its Series A Financing. 

The amount of the funding was not disclosed.

The round was led by WRF Capital, with participation the W Fund and a group of angel investors including several members of the Alliance of Angels. Loretta Little, Managing Director at WRF Capital, will join the Mobisante board in conjunction with the funding.

The company, which expects to do another closing soon, will use the funds to expand its sales and marketing efforts.

Led by Sailesh Chutani, CEO, and recently added Marcus Y. Smith, CFO, and Dr. Bradley N. Younggren CMO, Mobisante provides a smartphone-based ultrasound imaging system, the MobiUS™SP1 system, and just launched MobiUS TC1 tablet system, which offers a larger image with higher resolution.
